Delhi University Issues DUSU Poll Eligibility Rules for September 9 Deadline
Delhi University has issued DUSU election voting rules, setting September 9, 2026, as the admission deadline and specifying identity documents required for first, second and third-year students.
The university has made separate provisions for first-year students who have not yet been issued identity cards. Such students will be allowed to vote on the basis of a verified fee receipt, a bonafide certificate carrying a passport-size photograph and a government-issued identity document.
For second- and third-year students, a valid identity card will be mandatory for voting. However, in cases where an identity card has not been received, students may be permitted to vote after verification of the original verified fee receipt for the ongoing academic year along with a valid government-issued identity document.
The university has clarified that these eligibility and identification rules will be followed across all colleges, departments and institutions affiliated with DUSU. The guidelines set out the documents students must produce to establish their eligibility at the time of voting.
